EU/Presidency: Government to meet unions, employers to discuss priorities of EU Council presidency


Lisbon, Feb. 15, 2021 (Lusa) - The government on Monday called the trade union and employers' confederations to a social consultation meeting on Wednesday to discuss the priorities of the Portuguese presidency of the Council of the European Union concerning employment and social affairs.

According to the notice sent to the social partners by the Economic and Social Council, at the request of the office of the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, Ana Mendes Godinho, under analysis will be the "Priorities of the Portuguese presidency of the EU Council 2021 in the area of employment and social affairs.

The agenda also includes, as usual, the "monitoring of the situation of the pandemic" of Covid-19 and other issues.

The meeting of the Standing Committee on Social Dialogue takes place during the morning by videoconference for health security reasons.
