Brussels, Jan. 11, 2021 (Lusa) – The European Commissioner for Health on Monday reported "a very important and positive meeting" with Portugal's health minister Marta Temido, with whom she intends to work closely in the "difficult months ahead" to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the end of a videoconference between Brussels and Lisbon, Commissioner Stella Kyriakides used her official Twitter social network account to report on the meeting with the Portuguese Minister for Health, indicating that both addressed "the current situation of Covid-19 and the shared priorities".
"I look forward to working together with the Portuguese EU Council presidency to provide all citizens with a way out of the crisis in the difficult months ahead," the Commissioner wrote.
Portugal has held the rotating six-month presidency of the EU Council since 1 January, with Minister Marta Temido chairing the Health Ministers' Councils of the 27 over the coming months, which will continue to be dominated by the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
