epa07462989 Romanian prosecutors stand while holding placards on the stairs of the Appeal Court building during a silent protest against the amendments of the laws of justice pushed as government ordnance by the ruling leftist coalition, in Bucharest, Romania, 25 March 2019. Tenths of prosecutors from Bucharest protested today against draft emergency ordinances to amend the Criminal Codes, against the Special Section for the Investigation of Magistrates and the Government's refusal to repeal the GEO 7/2019 ordnance. Romanian Government one month ago two new emergency ordinances in the justice sector, from which one changes the rules for naming top prosecutors. Tenths of people, representing civil society and human rights activists protested, in empathy, across the street of the Appeal Court, supporting the prosecutors position. The placard from the center reads: 'THE JUSTICE INDEPENDENCY IS IN DANGER', and the down-right one - 'PLEASE RESPECT THE VENICE COMMISSION'S RECOMMANDATION'. EPA/ROBERT GHEMENT
