The United Nations General Assembly on 18 May 2021 is set to contemplate a draft non-binding resolution that calls for 'an immediate suspension of the direct and indirect supply, sale, or transfer of all weapons, munitions, and other military-related equipment to Myanmar'. The draft is co-sponsored by 48 countries and also calls to implement a five-point consensus from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit on Apr 24 which includes a facilitated visit from a special UN envoy to Myanmar and to provide 'safe and unimpeded humanitarian access'.
