The festival, held since 1958 every two years, is the biggest classical music festival held in Romania, in honor of Romanian composer and violinist George Enescu. The 24-th edition of the George Enescu International Festival takes place between August 31 and September 22, with the participation of over 2,500 foreign musicians and over 1,000 Romanian artists, who will perform in 84 concerts in Bucharest and 30 concerts in other 10 cities from Romania, as well as the associated events taking place in 6 world cities : Florence, Berlin, Liège, Toronto, Montreal and Chisinau. Musical instruments manufactured by the Romanian Luthier's Association, most of them from the city of Reghin, especially to be exposed at the events of the Enescu Festival 2019.
