epa08347533 What is commonly referred to as a 'Supermoon' is seen in the sky over the town of Garafia, La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain, on early 07 April 2020. According to media reports the moon will reach its closest distance to the Earth in 2020 of 221,772 miles (356,907 kilometers) on 07 April at 02:08 p.m. EDT (1808 GMT), while it will officially turn into a Full Moon - this time appearing even bigger and in pink to redish color - some 8 hours and 35 minutes later. Meteorologists expect the close Supermoon to have a stronger effect on the oceans and will cause stronger tidal movement at coasts worldwide. EPA/MIGUEL CALERO
